The story begins with an interesting note when the young Prince, Raj is approached by a british officer, Jenkins in an art gallery in Calcutta. He’s invited to visit Kachugaon, the forests in North East India.

The prince is delighted to meet him, as he always wanted to visit the forests of Kachugaon. He loved wildlife as a child and he’s being invited for the same. But he refuses, after all he has an empire to manage.

Raj is left surprised when Jenkins visits him in his palace and gifts him an authentic gift. Later on, Raj decides to take a trip to Kachugaon. The imagery is beautiful as depicted in the book.

Raj wanted to explore the wildlife while he felt the people around him to be reserved and scared. He also learnt about a girl who heads a troop of elephants. They say its hard to catch the animals because of this unknown girl. A mysterious and interesting read overall.
