The Captive is a gripping story about a girl Kruthi. The title is really intriguing, but I was thrilled as I read the Prologue. The girl is kept in captive, and as I read, i could feel the pain that the girl must have gone through. It really gave me goosebumps. As Kruthi killed her captor, I was amazed at her willpower to live on. She ran away for her life. Each chapter has kept me on my toes. Dhananjay being a good cop and a friend as well, while Madhuri is really adamant to catch the culprits. The way she handled everything has amazed me. She didn’t even spared her own husband when she found him connected to Kruthi’s case. What I really liked about this book is that the first section is about the present times when Kruthi escaped her abductors, second section is all about the past of the men, Anthony and Birju. I was really thrilled to know their dark past. While, the third section is all about catching the Boss. The arrest of Aryaveer broke my heart as I found him really sweet. Though the ending is as expected.. Truly, the title of the story is justified. The mind is the real captor of a human soul.. An amazing read!
