Book Review: Chotu finds a home by Santhini Govindan

"Chotu finds a home" is a story of a cute dog. Finding a home is a difficult task. And for a dog like Chotu, it is hard to even survive.

Chotu is a small dog who wanders on the roads and finds a friend in a big mongrel (dog) named Lallu. Lallu is one adamant dog who allows Chotu to stay with him but he argues that only he (Lallu) will be the leader of the pack.

Chotu is a meek puppy and he agrees with Lallu as they begin to settle with each other. Each day is full of surprises for Chotu as he begins to manifest his wish to find a home soon. Every day, it is hard to find food scraps for themselves. There are times when shopkeepers or people shoo them away. Chotu finds two friends and lands a job ---that a cat gives him. The cat also tells him that Chotu won't find a home so easily.

One day, out of the blue, Chotu meets some children at the bus stop wherein one girl befriends Chotu and names him Tommy. Tommy aka Chotu begins to like her and learned her name ---Nisha.

The climax of the story is quite interesting where Chotu and his friend tried to save the city from a big explosion. It is something that Chotu had doubted earlier. His assumptions came true as the same men he suspected earlier kept the explosives in the dustbins.

His heroism attracted Nisha and she insisted her parents to keep Chotu with them. Finally, Chotu finds a home!

A beautiful story of finding a home ---all the characters are on point. Such a beautiful read. Congratulations to the author!!
